My Story
The most important thing about me is my motherhood. I have 3 boys, ages 18, 20 and 23... and a beautiful female rescue dog. They have been my inspiration to achieve and maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
A pivotal health moment for me was a repetitive stress spinal injury primarily caused by improperly hoisting an infant car seat. I had to lose weight and strengthen my core to get out of bed and avoid surgery. Through my physical therapy during that time, I found that I enjoyed the weight room and the social outlet it provided. As the boys entered the sports world, I knew it would take a lot of vitality to keep up with them and the joy they always displayed in their youthful pursuits was incredibly inspiring. I began running, participated in triathlons and joined them at every crazy water park. Today, I still participate in high energy sports like running, HIIT workouts, road biking, swimming, skiing and surf simulators, but I also find great joy and peace in hiking, stand up paddle boarding and a daily yoga practice.
My friends would certainly describe me as a fitness and nutrition enthusiast, but I had also fallen into the trap of giving from an empty cup. I was nearing 50, worried about aging and hormone health, feeling empty and unfulfilled, and suffering greatly as a result. Through this life journey, I learned that mental/emotional health, spirituality, sleep hygiene, and relationships are as critical to overall well-being as the food we put on our plate.
I had always been a teacher-type. From a Certified PADI SCUBA Instructor in college to my years working in youth sports administration, I wanted to carry these skills forward in my career. When I discovered Holistic Health Coaching, I knew I had found the right match to my experience and my heart’s home in the health and wellness space.
The concepts of health that had been resonating so deeply with me were reinforced through my education at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I studied a variety of dietary theories and practical lifestyle coaching methods.
While traveling this journey, I picked up a particular interest/focus on gut health, detoxification and stress management techniques. A deep dive into these studies as been both fascinating and empowering to me to learn just how much control we can have over improving our own health. I am so excited to share that with my loved ones, friends, and you.
My practice is guided by My Mission: To heighten the love and positive energy that connects all beings to each other and to our environment by empowering people to elevate their overall well-being and feelings of self love; increasing joyful and healthy living and contributing to global health.
On a more personal/one-on-one level, I simply love connecting to people and helping them in a heart-centered way. As a tour guide to sustainable lifestyle changes, I create a nonjudgemental space for you to explore solutions that meet your unique individual needs and align with your authentic self. In a partnership of our combined knowledge, we co-create completely personalized actions based on your goals to move you toward your ideal vision of health within your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and resources. From here, your improved health will naturally have a “Ripple Effect” on those around you.
Wishing you Joy,
Leonore Lee, NBC-HWC, CFNC
